It’s enough to make you see red. Over half of British males say red is their least favourite colour for underwear and they actually prefer to see their bedmate in dark, mysterious vampiric black. Yet almost two-thirds of women think their men prefer to see them in a red bra and knickers.

A new study made by laundrycare expert, Dr Beckmann, has overturned some of the most deeply entrenched myths about men, women - and underwear.

Red has often been held to be the sexiest lingerie colour - the one women wear when they are feeling “flirty”, despite the fact it barely flatters the typical ‘pale English rose’ complexion. But this is no longer true, according to the average British male.

Once believed to be a favourite for Valentine’s Day boudoir gifts, racy, red lingerie, is now considered the biggest bedroom turn-off by British chaps, according to Dr Beckmann’s study.

More than 50% of the men questioned put red at the top of their least favourite list, with a further 18% giving the thumbs-down to pink, and 11% saying ‘No’ to flesh-tones.

The routing of red is a blow for many women, more than 60% of whom confessed to buying red when they wanted to impress their man.

Men however, do have a secret fashionista streak - because they actually prefer black, closely followed by white, which is good news for Dr Beckmann, since they are the makers of the laundry product, Glowhite.

Natalia Vodianova, one of the most famous fashion models was born in Nizhny Novgorod in Russia in 1982. In 2005 Vodianova founded the Naked Heart Foundation, an organization that aims to provide play facilities for children in urban Russia. The organisation has built nearly thirty play parks, its first in Vodianova’s hometown of Nizhny Novgorod.

If you have basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine, try this quick alteration to turn regular pants into cigarette pants.

1. Turn the pants inside out and put them on. As you flatten each seam as much as possible, place pins in a straight line on each side of your leg where you’d like them to fit.

2. Carefully remove the pants to avoid pricking yourself. It helps if the pants have some stretch in this case.

3. Starting at a careful angle in line with the seam, sew a straight line along where you placed the pins, removing each one as you approach it.

4. Turn right side out and try on again.

5. If pleased with result, remove extra fabric with a pair of fabric scissors and flatten the inside seams with a hot iron.

6. Put pants on again right side out. Fold hems under to ankle length. Pin. Pass through machine again, about a half inch above the hem. Remove extra fabric, if necessary.

Burberry, £1.2 billion-pound worth British fashion brand, is about to shock fashion business later this month by globally streaming its fall/winter 2010/2011, womenswear catwalk show designed in ’Avatar’-style, in 3D. The cyberspace-age spectacular will, “enable people to experience the energy and atmosphere of this event from around the world,” said Burberry’s chief creative officer, Christopher Bailey. “3D technology will bring our global audience into the London show space allowing them to see the colours and fabrics, to hear the music and to be a part of that moment when it all finally comes together.’’

January Paris Men’s Fashion Shows

The January Paris shows started with Louis Vuitton, with a Vienna-inspired parade of somber coats and jackets, convertible boots with zippers and beautiful bags with abstract hand-painting by the artist Christian Schoeller. Helbers, the men’s studio directo,r said that he had looked at artists like Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt for inspiration; he also commissioned a soundtrack featuring a Kafka reading, and even changed the show-space configuration: instead of a normal runway, models walked in a mazelike setup. It was a smart move.

Wow, I feel like blood sounds and smell are a trend this season. After Dsquared’s lip-busting hockey rumpus in Milan, Jean Paul Gaultier brought a boxing ring to his runway!. Two female boxers in fetishy corsets and bras kick-boxed as smashed-up guys decked in long leather shorts, sweat pants tucked into boxing boots, hooded sweaters and boxing robes strutted around them.
